Through the generosity of The Dow Chemical Company, The Philadelphia Education Fund offers grants of up to $1000 to enhance STEM classroom instruction to Philadelphia School District teachers in grades K-12.

Grants are reviewed and awarded in three grade bands: K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Preference is given to applications from teachers who have not previously received mini-grants from the Education Fund. Teams of teachers, especially interdisciplinary teams, are encouraged to apply.  Only one application will be accepted from each school.

Projects must involve science, math, engineering and/or technology; must be inquiry-based or project-based; and must have measureable outcomes. The goal of these grants is to encourage teachers to explore innovative ways to modify instructional methods. Projects may take place during scheduled class time or during afterschool activities.  Priority will be given to projects that can be replicated by other teachers. Projects designed solely to acquire classroom materials will not be considered.

No mini-grant applications are currently being solicited. For more information, contact Nancy Peter at
