Philadelphia public school students will graduate from high school with strong STEM knowledge and skills, enabling them to succeed in a 21st century STEM economy.

PHILADELPHIA MATH + SCIENCE COALITION MISSION
The mission of the Coalition is to foster a collaborative, city-wide STEM stakeholder community to coordinate resources that support preparation of all Philadelphia public school students to become productive citizens in a 21st century STEM economy.

GOALS
The relationships between STEM student achievement, educators, and the surrounding STEM community are interdependent and part of a complex whole.  The Coalition’s capacity goals reflect how it will best identify and leverage community resources to realize its educator and student impact goals.

1.     
Students: Increase access to and engagement in quality math
and science opportunities for all Philadelphia public school students.



 



2.     Educators: Increase
access to and engagement in excellent pre-service and in-service STEM
learning opportunities




3.     
Create the platform
for a collective approach to address the challenge – identifying needs,
strategies to address those needs, and the partners and resources necessary
to implement those strategies.



4.      Galvanize a cross-sector body with the will
and resources to operationalize and implement the strategies developed from
