Philadelphia Teacher Residency Graduates Inaugural Cohort

On Thursday, June 17th, Philadelphia Teacher Residency (PTR) celebrated the completion of its inaugural residency cohort. Residents, mentors, site directors, families, friends, and supporters gathered to acknowledge the remarkable accomplishments of the nine inaugural residents.

Representatives from the School District of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, and the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers offered congratulatory remarks and thanked the residents for committing to Philadelphia public school students. Diana Campbell, Philadelphia Teacher Residency Director, thanked the residents for being consummate professionals and embracing the process. The nine residents, who have spent the past school year teaching full-time while working to complete a Master's of Education degree, will be teaching in their own classrooms in the fall.

The next cohort of Residents are scheduled to begin their residency this summer.

A special thanks to Fleisher Art Memorial for hosting the evening's reception.
