Xavier Brown, senior at Paul Robeson High School for Human Services and participant in the College Access Program, has been awarded the prestigious and highly competitive Gates Millennium Scholarship. Brown is one of 1,000 students selected as 2010 Gates Millenium Scholars.
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS) was established in 1999 and initially funded by a $1 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for outstanding minority students with significant financial need to reach their highest potential.
